Nabuchodonozor III
Nebuchadnezzar III, Nabu-kudurri-usur III (Nabu-kudurrī-uur, Nabu-kudurrī-uur, "the god of Nabu guard my eldest son", Nidintu-Bel, son of Aniri) - self-proclaimed king of Babylon from 3 October 522 BC during the reign of the Persian ruler Darius the Great, claiming to be the son of Nabonid, the last ruler of Babylonia before the Persian conquest.
As soon as the news of Barda's assassination reached Babylon, the country was already four days after the event, against the Persians. Nebuchadnezzar III took advantage of the political vacuum after the death of Kambez II and the usurpation of Gaumata. The uprising was quickly suppressed by the Darius armies in two battles: December 13th over Tigers and December 18th at Zazana on the Euphrates. Nidintu-Bel fled to Babylon, but was captured there and murdered. At the latest from December 22nd in Babylon dates plaques "the beginning of the reign of Darius." Bibliography
