Serhiy Buriak
Serhiy Vasylowych Buriak, born April 1, 1966 in Donetsk) is a Ukrainian entrepreneur and politician, educated financier, economics candidate. Curriculum vitae
He worked as an assistant at one of Kyiv's universities. In the early 1990s he started his business career, from 1992 to 1996 he was a member of BrokBiznesBank. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Verkhovna Rada. In the fourth term he belonged to the majority of the Viktor Yanukovych government. After the Orange Revolution he went to the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc. From the list of BYuT, he was elected deputy in 2006 and again in early 2007 elections.
From 1999 to 2007, he sat on the board of the NBU. In December 2007 he was appointed head of the Central Administration of Taxation of Ukraine, submitting a mandate in the parliament. In 2012 he was re-elected to the parliament in the constituency as an independent candidate. He joined the Faction of the Regions Party, which he left in 2014.
He is the older brother of Oleksander Buriak, also a banker and politician. In 2008, on the list of the richest Ukrainians, they took 19th and 20th place with a fortune estimated at $ 1 billion. Bibliography
