Willy Eckert


Willy Eckert (born 1919, May 27, 1947) is a Nazi criminal, member of the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp and SS-Hauptscharführer.

Member of the Waffen-SS since October 1935. The staff of Mauthausen belonged from April 1, 1939 to November 1943. Eckert was the head of the prisoners' committee and served in the camp laundry. He participated in executions and bullied the prisoners.

Willy Eckert was convicted in the trial of Mauthausen-Gusen (US vs. Johann Altfuldisch and others) by the American Military Tribunal in Dachau for the death penalty. The sentence was made by hanging in the Landsberg prison on May 27, 1947. Bibliography
