Edmund Borowski
Edmund Borowski (born January 23, 1945 in Grabno) is a Polish athlete who specializes in running for 400 meters.
His biggest achievement is winning the gold medal at the European Championships in Budapest in 1966 in a 4 × 400 meter relay (along with Jan Werner, Stanisław Grędziński and Andrzej Badeński). In the 400 m individual race he was eliminated in qualifying.
He was also successful in indoor events. At the European Indoor Games in Prague in 1967 he won a silver medal in the 4 x 2 relay race (along with him runners Edward Romanowski, Jan Balachowski and Tadeusz Jaworski) and one year later the EIH in Madrid won the same medal in the 1 + 2 + 3 relay race. +4 laps (partners Marian Dudziak, Waldemar Korycki and Andrzej Badeński). Finally, another silver medal was won at the European Indoor Championships in Vienna in 1970 in a 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 laps (with Stanislaw Waśkiewicz, Kazimierz Wardak and Erik Żelazny).
Borowski was a silver medalist at the European Junior Games in 1964 in a Swedish relay race (relay 400-300-200-100 m).
He was a reserve champion of the Polish relay 4 × 400 meters at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico.
He won the title of Polish Champion in 4 × 400 m (1967, 1968 and 1971). He played in fifteen matches of the Polish national team, scoring 1 individual win and 15 in relay.
