Ida z Leo
Ida of Leeuw (born ca. 1201 in Gorsleeuw, died 29 October 1262/1273) - Christian mystic, blessed Catholic Church.
She was the daughter of the poor nobleman Gisbert de Lewis. As a skilled and willing to learn girl, she got into the beggining school in Borgloon, where she learned to write. During the nightly choir prayers were to be gifted with happy graces. When she was thirteen she joined sister Catherine at the Cistercian abbey in Ramea, where she worked as a copyist and editor of liturgical books. She met there with Nijvel and Beatrice of Nazareth. Vita Idae Lewensis shows Ida as a perfect cyst, tells the devilish temptations and the hard trials she has undergone, as well as her mystical experiences. Bibliography
