Neit (queen)

Neit - the wife of ancient Egyptian ruler Pepi II. She was the daughter of Pepi I and Anchnesmerire I, sister of Merenre I. Her husband Pepi II was also her half-brother. Their son was Merenre II.

After death, she was buried in Sakkara in her own burial complex at the pyramid of her husband next to the pyramids of his other two wives Udżepten and Iput. Its pyramid has a side of 24 meters in length and a height of about 23 meters and is actually a copy of the Pepi II pyramid. The walls inside the pyramid were covered with Pyramid Texts, and the granite sarcophagus was empty at the time of its discovery and had no cover. Bibliography
