Roman Malek


Roman Malek (born October 3, 1951 in Bytów) is a Polish sinologist, until 2012 the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Monumenta Serica - Journal of Oriental Studies and director of the sinological institute Monumenta Serica in Sankt Augustin near Bonn in Germany, Divine (Verbs).

Prof. Dr. Roman Malek was born in 1951 in Bytów, Kashubia. Doctorate in 1984 at the University of Bonn. He is currently teaching Comparative Religions at the University of Bonn and at the Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule in Sankt Augustin near Bonn. By 2012, he was also the publisher of the monograph series Serica Monograph Series and Collectanea Serica, and the editor of China Heute's bi-monthly monograph on Contemporary Religious Situation in China.
