Cinzio Cenci


Cinzio Cenci (d. 1217) - Italian Cardinal, appointed by Pope Clement III in 1190. He signed papal bulls between 9 December 1190 and 24 July 1217. He served as papal legate in Scandinavia (1191-1192) for his pontificate. He participated in the papal election in 1191, in January 1198 and in July 1216. For his pontificate, Innocent III was a legate in the south of Italy, where he tried to compel Markward von Anweiler's regency of the kingdom of Sicily (papal fief). Bishop of Porto e Santa Rufina since March 1217. He died in Rome. Bibliography
