Franz Kofler
Franz Kofler (born December 8, 1917, died 19 November 1948) is a Nazi criminal, member of the German concentration camp Mauthausen-Gusen and SS-Oberscharführer. On 2 September 1941, he was assigned to the camp of Mauthausen-Gusen, where he remained until May 1945. He served in both the main camp and the sub-camps: Gros-Raming, Linz and Sohlier. Kofler held positions, in turn: the guard, the head of the prisoners' committee and the report officer (Rapportführer). He had numerous conspiracies and torture for prisoners of the camp.
In the process of Mauthausen's crew (US vs. Franz Kofler and others) before the US Military Courts in Dachau Franz Kofler was sentenced to death. The sentence was made by hanging on 19 November 1948 in the Landsberg prison. Bibliography
