Gustav Heigel (born 15 March 1893, date unknown) - Nazi criminal, member of the German concentration camp Buchenwald and SS-Hauptscharführer.

Staff member of Buchenwald from December 15, 1941 to April 11, 1945. He initially served as a Blockführer. From February 1943 to January 1945 he was in charge of the camp. During this period, Heigel participated in the executions of prisoners by hanging or shooting. As a result of these executions nearly 400 prisoners were killed. He also participated in more than 50 executions carried out by Kommando 99. In addition he tormented prisoners in the prison block. Finally, from January 1945 to April 1945 he commanded a prisoner platoon and commanded a prisoner command.

After the end of the war, Heigel sat on the bench of a Buchenwald crew (US vs. Josias Prince Zu Waldeck and others) in front of the US military court in Dachau and was sentenced to death. Judgment was changed in the act of grace for life imprisonment. The prison in Landsberg left in the mid 1950s. Bibliography
