Jan Sziling
Jan Sziling (born December 15, 1939 in Więcbork) - Polish historian, specializing in modern history.
In 1957 he graduated from the Collegium Marianum in Pelplin, and a year later graduated from high school in Więcbork. In 1963 he graduated from the Nicolaus Copernicus University with a degree in history and was employed at this university. The subject of his dissertation, which was defended in 1971, was the Nazi occupiers policy towards the Catholic Church on Polish territories incorporated into the Reich (1939 - 1945), and promoter Witold Lukaszewicz. On the basis of the dissertation, the Christian churches received the habilitation of the Christian Church in the policy of the German occupying authorities in the General Government (1939 - 1945).
The title of Professor of Humanities was awarded on January 31, 2008.
In the years 1999-2005 he was Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History of the University. Selected publications
