MLPA
MLPA results for existing DMD gene deletion in Duchenne muscular dystrophy. MLPA (Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification) - is a variant of the polymerase chain reaction, allowing for relative simultaneous and quantitative evaluation of up to forty nucleotide sequences. In MLPA, the probe added to the reaction is amplified by PCR (not the DNA sample sequence as in PCR), and the attached probe acts as a template. Amplification products are identified and quantified by capillary electrophoresis.
