Museum of Antiquities in Vilnius
The Vilnius Antiquities Museum, a historical and natural history museum in Vilnius, founded in 1855 by Eustachy Tyszkiewicz, opened in 1856 at the University of Vilnius; closed in 1863, closed in 1865 at the command of Mikhail Muravoyov and robbed by Russian scientific institutions; again organized at the University of Stefan Batory in 1919, robbed by the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in 1941. The second oldest Polish museum, the first museum in Lithuania, documented the history of the Commonwealth of the Two Nations on the lands taken; Since 1992 the collections of the museum are held by the Lithuanian National Museum in Vilnius.
