Pączkowce


Buds, blastids († Blastoidea) - a group of extinct echinoderms, living from the Silurian to the Permian. Their bloom has reached the carbon.

The buds were characterized by a distinct five-beam symmetry of the body. The cup was made of 13 plates (5 deltoids, 5 forks and 3 bases) and was placed on the stem. There were 5 breastbags in the cup with numerous thin brachioles. The whole cup was like a rose bud (hence the name of the group). At the top there was a mouth surrounded by 4 spiracles and an anthill.

They were only marine organisms, leading a bentonized, sedentary lifestyle. Bibliography
