Zdzisław Przebindowski


Zdzisław Przebindowski (born 7 November 1902 in Kraków, died 4 January 1986) - Polish painter, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, vice-president of the Krakow Society of Friends of Fine Arts. For the first time Zdzislaw Przebindowski exhibited his work in the. Jan III Sobieski in Cracow, to which he attended. In 1920 he studied at the Poznan School of Decorative Arts and the Artistic Industry. In 1925 he returned to Cracow. He was a student of the Academy of Fine Arts (F. Pautsch's studio), which he graduated with distinction (a scholarship holder of the National Culture Fund). After graduation he settled for a while in Paris. He then lived and worked in Venice, Florence and Rome respectively. He also visited the coast of Africa. At the turn of 1937 and 1938 he returned to Kraków and undertook pedagogical work at the Academy of Fine Arts, which broke the Second World War. He returned to college in 1945, where he worked until 1972.

He painted landscapes, genre scenes, still lifes, portraits. He has worked in numerous organizations and societies (eg "Art Society", Society of Fine Arts, Union of Polish Artists). Awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. His works are among others. National Museum in Cracow, National Museum in Poznan, Museum of Silesian Opole, Museum in Grudziądz, in private collections. In 1996, he was named one of the streets in Cracow. Bibliography
