Thermodynamic environment

The thermodynamic environment, briefly the environment, otherwise the environment is everything that does not belong to the thermodynamic system, theoretically the whole universe.

Ex. In a chemical reaction, the compounds and ions that are directly involved in the reaction are the system, while all others (and everything outside the reaction vessel, if not an insulating system) from the reaction point of view are the surroundings that receive or release heat (or heat). The gas pressure above the liquid determines the boiling point of that liquid and the pressure of its vapor under these conditions.)
