Jon Bentley
Jon Louis Bentley (born February 20, 1953 in Long Beach, California) is an American computer scientist. He won the title of baker in 1974 at Stanford University. He earned his Master's and Doctorate degrees (1976) from the University of North Carolina. He is a professor of mathematics and computer science at Carnegie Mellon University. Bentley was awarded the Dr. Dobbs' Journal Excellence in Programming in 2004
He wrote a series of articles. Programming Pearls in the Communications of the ACM, on the basis of which two books of the same title. Bentley has published over 200 articles. The Programming Pearls book contains a binary search algorithm with an error that was discovered about 20 years after publication. Bibliography
