Joseph Kanofsky
Joseph Kanofsky - Chassidic rabbi from the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, doctor of comparative literature, director of the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation in Poland, 2001-2006. Joseph Kanofsky is from Tacoma, Washington, and currently resides in Toronto. In the years 1986-1998 he studied Comparative Literature at Boston University. The Magisterium made a Christian interpretation of the philosophy of Abraham Joshua Heschel, and a doctorate of the works of Franz Kafka and Nachman of Braclav. In 1998-2001 he studied rabbinical studies at the Rabbinical College of America. He was the personal secretary of Elliott Welsh, working at the Wexner Graduate Fellow Foundation. In the years 2004-2009 he worked as an educational program consultant at UJA-Federation of Greater Toronto. Since July 2009 he has been a rabbi of Kehillat Shaarei Torah in Toronto.
Joseph Kanofsky is married, has five sons and a daughter.
