Osvaldo Cavandoli, also known under the pseudonym Cava (born 1 January 1920, died March 3, 2007) is an Italian painter. His most famous work is a series of about 150 short cartoon La Linea.

Cavandoli was born in Maderno sul Garda, Italy, but when he was two he moved to Milan (later became an honorary citizen of this city). From 1936 to 1940 he worked as a technical designer at Alfa Romeo. When he discovered his cartooning talent in 1943, he collaborated with Nino Pagot, who later created the Japanese cartoon Calimero. In 1950 he began his independent work as a director and producer. His fame was achieved only through the La Linea series - a simple cartoon that first appeared in 1969.
