Born in Nowotaniec in a bourgeois family. Until 1944 he lived and worked in Nowotaniec. He attended primary school in Nowotańc and Bukowsk. He graduated from Żółkiew. Theological studies began in Lviv. On May 11, 1941, Fr. Eugeniusz Tomaszewski in Nowotaniec.

After the war he was a professor of fundamental theology of the Pontifical Faculty of Theology and the Metropolitan of the Higher Seminary in Wroclaw. From 1947 lecturer in apologetics and religious studies at the Higher Seminary in Wroclaw.
