Bed (firearms)

The bed (also referred to as a former caravan - used in Poland since the 18th century) is a set of firearms used to fix the barrel and provide guidance in the vertical and horizontal plane. Its construction and functions depend on the type of weapon. The rifle barrel (usually wooden) serves as a handle. Together with the overlay and the hardware, it combines all its elements. In the pistol, the function of the bed is full of skeleton.

In the artillery sections, the bed consists of: bottom bed, upper bed, cradle, lifting mechanism, directional mechanism, strainer and protective shield. Bibliography
