Filippo Boncompagni (born 7 September 1548 in Bologna - died 9 June 1586 in Rome) is an Italian cardinal. Curriculum vitae

He was born in Bologna and studied law at a local university. He was the nephew of Pope Gregory XIII, who in 1572 appointed him cardinal San Sisto and superintendent general of the Holy See. The great penitentiary (1579-86) and prefect of St. Congregation of the Council of Trent (1580-86). He participated in the conclave of 1585, led by a group of cardinals nominated by his uncle. New Pope Sixtus V dismissed him as general superintendent, entrusting her to her relative, Alessandro Peretti de Montalto.
