HP3000
Hewlett-Packard's HP3000 series was launched in 1973 after a long-term project. Early models of these systems were based on CISC processors. The first minicomputer sold with a ready operating system. About the year 1988, they were equipped with 32-bit PA-RISC processors, retaining the backward compatibility of binaries. Originally, the operating system on these machines was called MPE V. After the introduction of PA-RISC processors evolved - also changing the name to MPE / iX. The system contained a built-in database engine - IMAGE - later Turbo IMAGE / XL. It was this engine that was the "strength" of the business applications of the system. The HP3000 was on sale until 2003 - HP provided support to users until December 31, 2006. HP LaserJet printers were originally designed for these systems.
