Zijadat Allah III

Zijadat Allah III ibn Abdallah (أبو مدا زيادات الله الثالث) (916) was the eleventh and last emir of the Aghlabid dynasty ruling in Ifrikiya in the years 903-909. He came to power after assassinating his father Abdallah II in 903. He immediately lost all his brothers and uncles to eliminate all his rivals. Although this massacre secured her position temporarily, the Aghlid dynasty lost the prestige she had in the eyes of the people. The Kutama tribe led by Abu Abd Allaah Ash-Shi continued to gain strength and was able to conquer the city of Satif - after two Aghlabid expeditions in 905 and 906 failed, Ash-Shi went to the counterattack. After the capture of the south of Ifrikiji, the Aghlabid troops were completely destroyed at Al-Aribus on March 18, 909. The entire Ifrikiya was now in the hands of the Kutama tribe, and the Aghlid dynasty fell.

Zijadat managed to escape to the Middle East, but was unable to assure the Abbasids to regain the emirate. He died in 916 in Palestine.
