Association memory
Associative memory, associative memory - a memory located inside a processor, ie, a processor cache. Its purpose is to speed up the system.
This is an "array" containing a number of operating memory descriptors. It allows you to speed up the process of accessing a particular memory frame. Referencing a page descriptor that is not in the associated memory causes it to be loaded into the page descriptor after it has been removed from the page.
The caching memory is also used in other systems. For example, the cache is in the form of TAG-RAM and contains information about cached memory.
