Surjawarman II
Surjawarman II - the ruler of the Khmer Empire from 1113 to 1145-1150 and the builder of Angkor Wat temple dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, where his remains were deposited after his death. The monumental achievements of his reign in architecture, the numerous military campaigns and the restoration of a strong government, included Surmarmarana II as one of the greatest kings of the empire. During his reign, he repeatedly tried to conquer Vietnam by assassinating Chama. However, when his allies made peace with Vietnam, he conquered Champa in 1138.
After over 300 years of diplomatic relations with China.
His successor was Dharanindrawarman II.
