Tandoor

Tandoor Tandoor (tindūr, tannūr; pers tanūr, arab. tannūr) is a clay-shaped clay oven used in India and other parts of southern Asia, fueled with charcoal, wood or fertilizer and preserved with spinach leaves. The baking temperature is above 480 ° C.

Dishes prepared in the oven have a unique taste and are referred to as tandoori. It is usually served with various types of meat previously marinated, as well as seafood and vegetables and naan pies. Due to the high temperature and short cooking time, the prepared dishes are crisp and juicy.

Contemporary tandoor ovens are made of bricks or metal and are most often fired with gas.
