Joseph Wang Yumei
Holy. Joseph Wang Yumei (Chinese: 王玉梅 若瑟) (born 1832 in Weixian, Hebei, China - died July 21, 1900 in Daning, Hebei) - Sacred Catholic Church, martyr.
During the rise of boxers, there was a persecution of Christians. On July 21, 1900, the insurgents arrested Catholics from Wei County in Hebei Province. Joseph Wang Yumei, who presided over the community of the faithful from the village, was killed. Among them were Lucy Wang Wang, Anna Wang and Andrzej Wang Tianqing, who were locked up. The next day they were given the choice of either dying out of faith or dying. They were killed after apostasy.
His memorial day is July 9th (in the group of 120 Chinese martyrs).
He was beatified on April 17, 1955 by Pius XII in the group Leon Mangin and 55 Companions. Despised in the group of 120 Chinese martyrs on October 1, 2000 by John Paul II. Bibliography
