Ringed pancreas
Circular pancreas (annular pancreas) - Anatomical pancreatic anomaly consisting of the presence of a pancreatic tissue band covering the descending part of the duodenum. The cause of this is the abnormal rotation of the abdominal pancreas. May occur clinically in neonatal period or later. Surgery due to occlusion is performed by passing by duodenal or duodenal anastomosis. Separation of the pancreatic tissue is not recommended because it can easily damage large pancreas, leading to fistulas and inflammation.
