Bogdan Szczygieł
Bogdan Stanisław Szczygieł (born 12 June 1928 in Olkusz, died December 1, 1986) - doctor of medical science, writer, traveler, social activist. Curriculum vitae
Since 1964 in PZPR. In the years 1964-1965 he stayed in Algeria as the head of the medical team of the International Civil Service (Service Civil International). From 1966 to 1977 he was in Niamey (Niger), where he worked as a radiologist, adviser to the president of the republic of health and a lecturer at the medical school of the university. At the turn of 1979/80 he made a trip to Benin, guiding the documentary expedition of the Ministry of Culture and Art. In 1980 he was the head of one of the PCK teams in Kampuchea.
He was fascinated by African art, and the result of his collections was the African Museum created in his native Olkusz. Publications Bibliography
