Friedrich Johann von Alvensleben


David James George Hennessy, 3rd Baron Windlesham CVO (born January 28, 1932 - December 21, 2010) is a British aristocrat and politician, member of the Conservative Party, minister of the Edward Heath government.

He received his education at Ampleforth College and at Trinity College, Oxford, where he studied law. In 1958 he became a member of Westminster City Council. After his father's death in 1968 he inherited the title of 3rd Baron Windlesham and sat in the House of Lords. In 1970 he became Minister of State at the Home Office. In 1973 he became Lord of the Secret Seal and chairman of the House of Lords. He remained in these posts for the 1974 presidential defeat.

Lord Windlesham has also worked for several magazines, including for the Observer. He also wrote several books. He then returned to the college where he was finally director of Brasenose College. In 1999, he was created as a baron Hennessy, and remained in the House of Lords after her reform.
