Jerzy Barczyński
Jerzy Barczyński (born April 19, 1948) is a Polish poet and activist of the democratic opposition in Tarnów. Activity in the democratic opposition in the People's Republic of Poland
One of the initiators of social protests in Tarnów during the events of March 1968. March 13, 1968, together with two other people, scattered leaflets from the windows of the bus calling on the inhabitants of Tarnów to participate in the protest and support of demands of academic youth. On March 20 and 21, 1968, a participant in street demonstrations in Tarnów. On October 11, 1968, he was arrested and sentenced by the District Court in Tarnów to be sentenced to six months' imprisonment for selling leaflets calling for demonstrations. He took prison in Cracow and Tarnów prisons.
In the 1970s he continued his opposition activities; During this period he could not find a job or study. In 1981 he was an employee of the Voivodship Internal Trade Enterprise "Świt" in Tarnow and the chairman of the Commodity Committee of NSZZ "Solidarność". December 14, 1981 interned in the Confederacy; Released March 22, 1982. Literary activity
The author of three collections of poems: Dezerter (1980), Night of Reflection (1992), The Island of Life (2007). "Gazeta Wyborcza", "Gazeta Gora", "Gazeta Prawna", " "Retaliation" - Writers Association of Veterans "Jędrusiów" AK soldiers, their families and sympathizers in Poleniec. A member of the poetry group "Observatory", previously in the poetry group "Chariot".
