Lucien Dury


Lucien Dury (born February 6, 1912 - May 14, 2002) is a Luxembourgian politician, journalist and president of the Luxembourg resistance movement. Dury was the founder of the Patriotic-Democratic Party, which in 1955 changed its name to the Democratic Party, which he presided over in 1959-1962. In the years 1945-1951 Dury was a member of the Luxembourg Parliament, the Chamber of Deputies.

During the German occupation of Luxembourg, Dury was a member and later leader of the Letzeburger Vollekslegio'n (resistance organization in Luxembourg). After the war, Lucien Dury founded the Lëtzebuerger Journal, where he served as a journalist and editor-in-chief.
