Ludwig Wittelsbach (born September 30, 1843 in Munich, died June 18, 1925 in Munich), princess of Bavaria, countess Trani.
Ludwig's Princess Ludwig was the fourth daughter of Maximilian, Prince of Bavaria, and Duchess of Ludwik of Bavaria. Her maternal grandparents were Maximilian and Józef Wittelsbach and his second wife Karolina Fryderyk Badeńska. Ludwik Ludwik had eight siblings. was the sister of Helena Karolina, Princess Thurn und Taxis, Elisabeth Amalia, Empress of Austria, Maria Zofia, Queen of Sicily and Zofia Charlotte, Duchess of Alençon.
On June 5, 1861, she married Ludwik Count Trania. Matylda's husband was the successor of his stepbrother, Francis II of Burbona, whose wife was the older sister of Matilda Maria Zofia. Ludwik and his wife had only one daughter, Maria Teresa Burbon, Princess of Sicily (15 January 1867-1 May 1909), wife of Wilhelm, duke of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.
After 18 years of marriage, Ludwik died in 1886, Matilda has not re-married, remaining a widow for 39 years.
