Marek Chowaniec
Marek Piotr Chowaniec (born January 24, 1966 in Auschwitz) - Polish stage, television and film designer, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
Doctorate (2010) and habilitation (2012) obtained at the Faculty of Media Art and Scenography of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
As a stage designer, he has produced about 50 theater productions. "Marat-Sade" and "Black Mask" - dir. Krzysztof Nazar, "Miss Saigon" and "Grease" - dir. Wojciech Kępczyński, "Kuglarze i hangielcy", "Garderobiany", "Parades", "So Far, So Close", "Cyrano de Bergerac", "Nie-Divka comedia" - dir. Krzysztof Zaleski, "So Much Love" and "Romeo and Juliet" - dir. Janusz Józefowicz, "Angels of America" - dir. Wojciech Nowak, "Chicago" - dir. Krzysztof Jasiński, "Five Brothers Moe" - dir. Olaf Lubashenko.
He has also co-produced about 30 television shows, including "Dr. Halina" - dir. Marcin Wrona, "The Accused - Death of Sergeant Karos" - dir. Stanisław Kuźnik, "Word of Honor" and "Secret Agent" - dir. Krzysztof Zaleski, "Our city" - dir. Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz, "The Monkey" - dir. Janusz Zaorski, "Career Arturo Ui" - dir. Piotr Szulkin. He also created scenery for the film "Letter" directed by Denijal Hasanovica and television series "Policja" directed by Łukasz Wylężałek.
In 2010 he was the creator of the set design for the ballet show "Let's dance, Chopin" (directed by Maria Stokłosa) at the opening of the Polish EXPO in Shanghai.
