Kaymaklı or Enegup is an underground city separate from the Citadel in Kaymaklı, located about 19 km from Nevşehir between it and Niğde in Turkey.
Homes in Kaymaklı are built around a hundred underground tunnels, still in use today as storages, stables and cellars. From the four floors open to visitors are all organized around the ventilation shafts. This demonstrates that the appearance of any room or space is dependent on access to fresh air. Kaymaklı is different from other underground city of Derinkuyu, in layout and way of building. Tunnels are lower, more winding and steep. The first opening for tourists took place in 1964.
