Vindachach Lake


Vindšachtské jazero - an artificial water reservoir in the Štiavnické Bane Mountains in Slovakia in the south-eastern part of Štiavnické Bane.

The reservoir was built in the years 1712-1715 according to the design of Mateusz Kornel Hella. It was destined, like other Banskavakai taekwondo, to collect the water needed to drive the machines and equipment of local mines and steelworks. The surface of the reservoir is 4.40 ha, the maximum depth is 13.5 m and the volume is about 534 thousand. m³. Water led to the lake from the surrounding slopes four aggregate channels with a total length of 9 km.

Currently used for recreational purposes: swimming, water sports, fishing. Bibliography
