Norwegian police 1940-1945 - Norwegian collaborative police formations in occupied Norway during World War II.

The Norwegian police were formed after the German occupation of Norway in May 1940. It was subordinated to the Police Department appointed by the Commissioner of the Reich Josef Terboven on 25 September. It was headed by Jonas Lie (since 1941 he was the title of Minister of Police).

The Norwegian police were divided into the following formations:

Most of the officers and non-commissioned officers of the Norwegian police were recruited from former prewar policemen and then veterans of the Norwegian Volunteer Army, fighting on the Eastern Front. Several members came from the Hird organization, which belonged to the fascist party Nasjonal Samling Vidkun Quisling and the Norwegian SS.
