Joseph Florko


Józef Florko, CM (born May 8, 1915 in Winnik near Lwów, died in 1945 in Bergen-Belsen) - Polish Catholic priest, Servant of God of the Catholic Church.

In 1931, he joined the Congregation of the Priests of Cracow, where he was ordained priest in 1939. Pastoral work and missionary activity in Cracow and in 1943 in Warsaw. Arrested on February 7, 1944, he was transferred to Pawiak, then transferred to the Nazi concentration camp in Gross-Rosen (March 28, 1944). He was sent to the camps in Mittelbau-Dora and finally to Bergen-Belsen (25 February 1945). He died during the evacuation of the camp. He is one of the 122 Servants of God, on which, on September 17, 2003, the beatification process of the second group of martyrs from the Second World War began. Internet sources
