Rade (ethnic group)
Rade (Rhade, Ede, Ede) - an ethnic group in Vietnam and Cambodia, in 1999 its population exceeded 270,000. people. In Vietnam, Rade has the status of an official ethnic minority.
The traditional occupation of the Rade is the incandescent cultivation of the earth. The people use primitive agricultural and domestic tools. It has a rich tradition of craftsmanship in the field of weaving and knitting.
The social structure of the Rade is based on matrilineal lines, where old, respected women are headed. The inheritance of the family is usually the youngest of the daughters. The family of the woman is a candidate for her husband.
