Secondary group

Secondary group - type of social group opposed to primary group. It is characterized by relatively low durability and many members. Secondary groups are created for the purpose of achieving a specific goal, characterized by formal and material types of relationships, with communication between members of the group being non-existent (eg political parties). Often, secondary groups are resolved after achieving a specific purpose for which they are called. Groups of this type predominate in industrial and post-industrial societies.
