Chicago House - home of Luxor in Egypt, built in 1931. It is the base of Egyptologists, photographers and cartoonists from the University of Chicago, who since 1975 have been extensively reconstructing the wall decoration belonging to the preserved part of the temple in Luxor. Chicago House has an extensive Egyptian library of 18,000 volumes. The library funded by the millionaire John Davison Rochefeller receives all the latest publications devoted to Egyptology. The house is halfway between Luxor and Karnak. For many years now, all members of international archaeological missions have been meeting in Thebes in successive seasons, from October 15th to July 15th. Bibliography
