Heart and mouth and action and life


Herz und Mund und Tat and Leben (BWV 147) - Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata dedicated to the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Performed for the first time on July 2, 1723. The original version (BWV 147a), which dates from the Weimar period of music (1716), was transformed and expanded in Leipzig. Most of the text was written by Salomon Franck.
