Le Duan


Le Duan (born April 7, 1907, died July 10, 1986) is a Vietnamese Communist activist. In the years 1930-1945 he was a member of the Communist Party of Indochina, several times imprisoned. From 1946 to 1954 he was one of the main leaders of the resistance movement against French troops in South Vietnam. In the years 1960-1976 he was the first secretary of the Central Committee, since 1976 the Secretary General of the Central Committee and a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
