Pegnitz (river)

Pegnitz is a river in Franconia, Bavaria's historic land of Germany.

The river source is located at 425 m n.p.m. in Franconian Switzerland, near the town of Pegnitz. Regnitz tide, located in the Rhine basin. The estuary is located near Fürth, at an altitude of 285 m. The river length is 115 km. Nature

Pegnitz flows in a mountain range called the Franconian Switzerland. In some of these mountains the Naturpark Fränkische Schweiz-Veldensteiner Forst Nature Park was established. Near the source of Pegnitz is a source of Menu, one of the most important rivers in Germany. The river is inhabited by numerous trouts, as well as gulls, swans and cooties.
