Intraoperative view of the spleen connected to the left testicle of the operated boy

Splenogonadal fusion - a rare developmental disorder involving the presence of spleen tissue within the scrotum. The extra spleen is connected to the nucleus on one side and on the other side to the spine of the long spinal cord. A defect can be detected accidentally when it is asymptomatic, or it may manifest clinically in the groin area, the feeling of pulling, or the symptoms of the inguinal tumor.

Eugen Bostro was first described in 1883, and in 1889 Gustav Pommer presented a detailed description.
