USS Tallahoma (1862)

Tallahoma two-compartment sailboat type Sossacus. This side-ship with a wooden hull was built in the yard of the New York Navy Yard. There it was launched on 28 November 1862. However, since its construction was not completed until 1867, when the Civil War to which it was built had long since ceased, the ship never entered service. After a short stay in New York, she was sold on August 29, 1868.

Renamed probably on "Mary M. Roberts" November 10, 1868, the gunboat was converted to barge on December 21, 1870 and disappeared from the list of merchant ships. Bibliography
