Hy Zaret
Hy Zaret is actually Hyman Harry Zaritsky (born August 21, 1907 in New York City, July 2, 2007 in Westport) is an American composer, songwriter.
He was both co-author of the hit song "Unchained Melody" from 1955, performed by such bands as The Platters, The Righteous Brothers and U2. The song was released on Phil Spector's Philles Records label. The track was used as a soundtrack in several films, and the song was recorded nearly 300 times, bringing Hy Zaret and Alex North to an Oscar nomination for Best Song.
