Christian Zeller


Julius Christian Johannes Zeller (born June 24, 1822 in Mühlhausen near Stuttgart, May 31, 1899 in Bad Cannstatt near Stuttgart) is a German mathematician.

With education mathematician, geographer and theologian, in 1874 Zeller became dean of the seminary in Markgröningen and director of a girlish orphanage. In 1882 he became a member of the French Mathematical Society. A year later, March 16, 1883, he presented a brief description of his equation (Zeller's equation), which was published in the Society's journal.

He was awarded the First Class Frederick Order, and the Crown Order of Württemberg. He retired in 1898, one year later he died. Authoritative control (person):
