Shystie

Chanelle Scott Calica, known as Shystie (born December 25, 1982) is a British rapper, songwriter and actress.

Her mother was born and brought up in Barbados, while her father was in Grenada. Shystie grew up in Hackney, East London. She began to gain fame thanks to her response to Dizzee Rascal's "I Luv U" and on her tour of Basement Jaxx and The Streets, which led to her signing to major record label Polydor.

In 2004, she recorded her debut album Diamond in the Dirt. It reached the UK sales of 55,000. The first single from the album became the song One Wish, placing on the 40th place UK Singles Chart. This piece talks about the sad events of the childhood of some people who grew up in blocks.

Shystie also plays a leading character named Dionne on the television series Dubplate Drama. This hero is an MC who wants to promote his music to the world, but he encounters in his way both a lot of difficulties, unfavorable people and people helping her to pursue a career. Road Mullet came up with the idea, while scriptwriter Luke Hyams wrote. Since November 2007, the second season has been filmed by television stations such as Channel 4, E4, MTV and MTV Base.
